Congratulations Kate & Ogie
Abri Credit Union's Two $1,000 College Scholarship Winners
The Abri Credit Union Scholarship Program awards $1,000 each to one graduating high school senior and one current college student to support their college tuition. We are proud to announce our 2026 scholarship recipients, Kate Zabloudil and Ogie Afemikhe. Applicants were invited to submit either a 60-second video or a 500-word essay sharing a clear and creative message on one of two topics. This year's winners explored different perspectives on financial independence and how finances influenced their college decisions, and their outstanding essays were selected as the top entries.

Kate Zabloudil is a senior at Plainfield North High School and plans to major in Animal Behavior, Ecology, and Conservation at Canisius University. She is excited about the program's hands-on learning opportunities, which will allow her to explore a variety of career paths within the field. While she is currently leaning towards becoming a zoologist, Kate is most passionate about working directly with animals. Kate's winning essay explored how finances influenced her college choice and the key factors that guided her decision. |

Ogie Afemikhe |
Ogie Afemikhe is currently a student at Joliet Junior College, majoring in Finance and Data Science. He plans to continue his education at either the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign or the University of Illinois Chicago, with his final decision still to come. In the future, Ogie aspires to own and operate his own real estate firm. Ogie's winning essay explored what financial independence means to him and the intentional steps he is taking to achieve it. |

The Abri Board of Directors and staff proudly congratulate Kate and Ogie on being named our 2026 College Scholarship recipients. We are honored to support them in their academic journeys and wish them continued success as they pursue their educational and professional goals. |
